Shark education and conservation has been one of Pro Dive’s major concerns ever since. With each Bull Shark dive you contribute to the conservation of those sharks, as Pro Dive International donates US$5 of your diving fee to the local non-profit organization Saving Our Sharks, and actively supports their projects.

As some of you might be aware, our dear friend and colleague Dr. Erich Ritter sadly and unexpectedly passed away in 2020. His team under Heike Schönthal will continue his legacy:

“Hello! I’m Heike, a shark lover, passionate diver and scuba instructor. Over the past 7 years, I’ve spent my vacation traveling with Dr. Erich Ritter who shared his comprehensive knowledge about sharks with all participants of his SharkSchool. During this time I learnt a lot from him about interacting with those animals. Dr. Erich Ritter (+ 2020) was a globally recognized behavioral scientist specializing in shark-human interaction. Since 2017, I’ve worked with him in the SharkSchool®Teaching association and keep passing on his legacy, knowledge and vision on many travel adventures. Throughout my diving career, I’ve encountered a variety of sharks in Mexico (Yucatan and Guadalupe), the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Egypt, the Azores, the Maldives, the Philippines and the Mediterranean Sea. I can’t wait to meet you in the Riviera Maya, Mexico!”
