‘SAVING OUR SHARKS’ project focuses on the protection of Bull Sharks in the Mexican Riviera Maya, esp. by GPS tagging them in order to study their population, determine their genetic background, health status and migration patterns to help protect this species and conserve their critical habitats.
Within this programme, Pro Dive International also adopted bull shark « Ixchel » in order to support and promote local shark conservation.
Shark Angels are leading a positive, contagious movement to save sharks – and the oceans. It´s a passionate, global community that believes in the power of education, media and local grassroots campaigns. They raise awareness to the critical issues, educate children, change perspectives, and empower and connect advocates to act locally to save sharks and the critical ecosystems they support.

The shark trust is the organization which promotes the idea of a future where sharks thrive within a globally healthy marine ecosystem. They closesly work with the UK Government and an ever-growing network of partners. Shark conservation is a global issue needing global solutions. In 2016 launched a new Global Plan for sharks and rays with a coalition of international partners.

An initiative for the protection of the endangered sea turtles.
Turtle Foundation was founded by a small group of dedicated private individuals with the common aim of preventing endangered sea turtles from becoming extinct. It is an international charitable organization. Turtle Foundation organize worldwide raffle in order to continue their efforts to help the future of sea turtles and their habitats. Founded in 1996, the Reef Check Foundation exists to help preserve the oceans and reefs which are critical to our survival, yet are being destroyed. With headquarters in Los Angeles and volunteer teams in more than 90 countries and territories, Reef Check works to protect tropical coral reefs and California rocky reefs through education, research and conservation.

Project AWARE connects the passion for ocean adventure with the purpose of marine conservation. It takes action to create both local and global change for the ocean and the communities who depend on it. Pro Dive International is part of this community and continuously organizes monthly beach clean ups to support the vision of healthy and clean ocean.
It is a program established from ZOFEMAT (Zona Federal Maritima) and proposed to us from Parque Nacional Arrecifes de Cozumel in which PDI has decided to participate. “Adopta una Playa” is a structured beach clean up around Cozumel island in which, several companies, organizations and citizens are participating. Every participant is assigned a beach to adopt and become responsible to perform a beach clean up once a month in that spot.
Pro Dive International together with Catalonia Gran Dominicus and FUNDEMAR organization are part of a local initiative which focuses on growing new corals and re-planting them in the surroundings of Bayahibe area, and especially in front of Catalonia Gran Dominicus hotel.
Having these coral nurseries on the beach in front of the hotel requires very special care. Pro Dive International together with Catalonia Hotels & Resorts are responsible for maintaining and cleaning these nurseries every month, as well as do the replanting.
