What´s included in our Whale Shark Safari?Itineraries and Inclusions

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel, and we will drive you to the harbor in Cancun. From there we take a boat in direction of Contoy Island. This is where the whale sharks migrate every year to eat plankton. We will stay for about 3-4 hours in the open sea, snorkeling in turns of 2 people at once, always accompanied by a specialized guide.

If the weather allows, we will stop at Isla Mujeres, where you can relax at the picturesque lagoon. We serve delicious ceviche (local dish) and (non-alcoholic) drinks to you on-board before taking you back to the harbor and your hotel, respectively.

  • Multilingual guides (English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian)
  • Air conditioned transportation from any hotel along the Riviera Maya.
  • Snacks, coffee, tea and fruit before boarding.
  • Softdrinks on board

Please bring:
Sunglasses, towel, hat, biodegradable sun cream, swim suit, tips, wetsuit if available, medicine for sea sickness if needed

FOR GUESTS STAYING IN COZUMEL 

> Safari starts on the mainland, pick up from the ferry in front of Señor Frogs in Playa del Carmen at 07:55 am. Participants can take the ferry from Cozumel to the mainland at 07:00 am. (to be reconfirmed with our team)

To preserve the habitat of whale sharks we conduct these safaris according to the guidelines of the Mexican Government and National Geographic.

  • 2 Visitors and a certified guide (biologist or naturalist) snorkel at same time.
  • Life jacket, wetsuit or floating device mandatory
  • Remain at least 6 feet from the whale shark, so it’s not disturbed.
  • Please, never touch or cross path with the whale sharks.
  • Use biodegradable sun protection only (or t-shirt), others are prohibited

With above simple guidelines you will protect the whale sharks and her habitat.
