Maracaibo Reef

In brief: Vertical drop-off and the spotting of larger animals, makes this site very appealing. Note: a very long boat ride with large ocean swells.

Depth/ Time: 80 – 120 ft, ±20 min

Currents: Strong

Skills: Experienced divers, prepared for depth and strong current. Observe air and time!

Life: Turtles, Eagle Rays, Black Tip reef Shark

Dive: Lighthouse is your reference point. Prepare equipment for a 100ft free fall to edge of wall. Drift along the coral wall and watch the animals. Air and time must be observed as divers need to return to the top of the reef at 80ft to begin ascend.
