One who ‘lives to dive’ can also ‘dive to live’.
Diving For Life is a non-profit organization that sponsors The International Gay and Lesbian SCUBA Jamboree. The Jamboree is a fund raising event that offers a fun filled week of SCUBA diving with 100 – 125 or more GLBTT divers attending. All proceeds from the Jamboree are donated to charitable organizations that support health care services.
Thanks to the contributions towards 2019’s event in Bonaire and the hard work of volunteers, US$ 90,000 could be distributed to worthy health service organizations.
After postponing the event in the last two years, in 2022 Diving For Life will travel to Fiji from 9-16 October. „By affiliation with scuba clubs throughout the world and a strong network of past participants, we expect about 120 people who enjoy great vacations and generously buy raffle tickets and auction items. Diving for Life (DFL) is a 501(c)3, volunteer-run organization. All of our travel agent commissions plus proceeds from an auction and raffle program go to health organizations selected by our affiliated clubs. In its 28 years, Diving for Life has given away over one million dollars!“ say Christine Simon, Director Diving for Life.
Pro Dive International and Occidental Cozumel 5* have repeatedly sponsored a weekend’s stay & dive package for two at the world’s top dive destination Cozumel in Mexico.
